Welcome to the new website which has been set up to spread information about the Neighbourhood Plan and to hear your views. This is a significant development for the community of Hackleton Parish, which gives you the opportunity to help shape the future of one of the largest parishes in the county. It is concerned with housing needs, our heritage, the environment and facilities. We wish to conserve the best of what we have, but look forward to the kind of place we would like the parish to be in 12 years time.
The Plan covers covers the entire parish and includes the villages of Hackleton, Piddington, Horton, Preston Deanery and the developments at St George’s / Wootton Fields. The steering group for this comprises members of the Parish Council and the wider community, with the support of South Northants Council. Through this website you will have the opportunity to discover more about the issues, how they affect you, and how you can have your say.
The Localism Act of 2011 meant that power to make decisions on housing and the environment would be devolved so that local communities have a say in their own future. When the Plan is made we will be equal partners with the district council in shaping our future, but for that to happen there will be a referendum in which you, the community, will decide whether or not you support the work undertaken on your behalf.
