How does Local Employment fit in? (Neighbourhood Plan Event June 2nd 2018)

How does Local Employment fit in?

The 2013 consultation showed that many people were already working from home part of the time and recent trends will have seen that grow even further.

Working from home will change the time s cars park and when they are on the road. It may also lead to the loss of garages with an impact on on-street parking and the need for study areas which may increase demand for homes with a larger number of rooms.

We already have a surprising number of businesses based locally some run from home, and some based from home.  This may lead to the demands for houses on sites which will also allow storage space for working tools. And which would need care and consideration as some loading and unloading and storage of tools could be noisy and disturbing to neighbours.

As it is a rural area agriculture does lead to jobs for contractors and for Farmers and their families but it no longer provides for more than a small proportion of the working population. Our planning needs to encourage rural industries to try to encourage a diversity of local employment.
