Sustainability is an important part of preserving character as if our management of the land is not sustainable it will change in the future and possibly not for the better.
The Government sets expectations of what planning should achieve and those below are a tough target which are currently being reviewed and made even more ambitious.
We live in a series of largely rural communities. To retain the character of communities involves retaining their character and settings.
Green Space is important for the character of the area and for people’s health and happiness. Not only do we need to actively retain our key green spaces but we need to maintain the village settings and separations.
The map below shows the areas of green space listed above and some of the areas where building would adversely affect village separation and settings.
